I’ve taken risks my entire career.

I knew no better at 23.

The job was in Chicago.

Chicago! Chi-Town, Wrigley Field, Navy Pier, Soldier Field, Field Museum, The Magnificent Mile.

All fantastic. This will be fun!

Location over job.

The job sucked. I quit at six months.

Then the answer to one question would change my life forever.

The Corporate recruiter asked, “What did you learn in college?”

I thought about it and said, “I got an education in high school, but I grew up in college.”

Recruiters usually don’t like it when you don’t answer their question directly.

She told me later that my answer was one of the best she’d ever heard and it’s why she recommended me.

I joined this medical industry leader and spent 15 years growing my career, skills, and resume. But now I’m frustrated with my job and leadership.
