The word “Change” as a neon light

A lesson from a random contact via LinkedIn

An interesting message landed in my LinkedIn box from a “business coach” about positions at his company. They state that they have a turn-key “system” that can generate income of $100,000/ year or more and that I can make a difference in small businesses and work full-time or part-time.

Several times over the past year, I have arranged meetings with businesses like this. So, I watched a video that outlined their process.

Respectfully, I declined the meeting and sent him a message to briefly explain that I am working to become “semi-retired” and that this role would not be a good fit.

I woke up early the next morning questioning myself.

As I have mentioned before, I have two speeds, “ON” and “OFF”. No dimmer switch.

I was under the impression that the last few generations have “dimmer switches”. They do not want to work full time, they don’t want to go into an office and if they must, they want it to be a casual, short day to avoid traffic. This is what I read and hear, so, now I am confused.

I thought I would fit in better, trying to “semi-retire”.

Well, it is a four-letter word.
